LEICESTER, Mass. —  After receiving their very own e-readers for residents to check out, the Leicester Public Library is inviting residents for a Nook demonstration tonight.

Adding to their physical book stacks, the library now has an increasing digitial library available to residents with their nook and a Kindle e-readers. Residents can now check out the devices and enjoy a new way of reading classics like Little Women or Pride and Prejudice, or new popular titles like The Hunger Games.

Library Director Suzanne Hall said it was one of the many ways the library is moving into the 21st century.

The e-readers can be checked out for three weeks, with a $1 overdue fine for each late day, up to $5.

Moreover, for residents that received their own nook for Christmas and are still figuring out exactly how to use their new toy, Lori Belton from Barnes & Noble will be hosting a Nook Information Night at the Library this February.

Visitors can either test drive a nook or bring their own and learn about its features, and learn how to download library books to the e-reader.

The event is for both adults and teens, and will be held from 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9 at the Leicester Public Library

Additionally, thanks to the Friends of the Library, residents can now also check out Wii and Xbox video games.

To check out the new assortment of video games, shelved at the end of the DVD section, upstairs, vist the Leicester Public Library at 1136 Main St.
