LEICESTER, Mass. — The town of Leicester now has a brand new web site at www.leicesterma.org, and while residents get used to some of the changes and revamped features, they can still enjoy the the continued tradition of Leicester Historical Commission's monthly photo contest.
The town's new website went live last Monday, and since then additional information and department pages continue to be updated and transferred over from the old server. The website for the Leicester Police Deparmtent, for instance, has been recently added, and is now available at http://www.leicesterma.org/pages/LeicesterMA_Police/index.
The Leicester Historical Commission's page has also received a new look.
The committee's mission is to presever Leicester's history, and one of the much-loved features of their former webpage was the Photo of the Month contest, which celebrates the historic places in town. .
Each month on its the commission's webpage there will be a photo of a historical site or landmark. While some of these structures still stand, others exist only in photos and the memories of longtime Leicester residents.
If you think you can solve the mystery, visit the contest page to submit your gues. Those who identify the February photo correctly will have their name listed on the commission's website.
